Arapahoe Basin opened its 2026-27 winter season Oct. 28, becoming the first Ikon Pass destination to open for the season. The Colorado ski area is celebrating its 80th winter with unlimited access for both Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders, a new benefit this season.
A-Basin will operate seven days a week for the remainder of the season. Opening-day skiing and riding is available on High Noon, an intermediate run accessed by the Black Mountain Express lift. Snowmaking will continue, with additional terrain opening along the mountain’s front side as conditions allow.
“We’re kicking off the Ikon Pass 26/27 season on a high note with our 80th anniversary. As we celebrate this milestone, offering unlimited access to A-Basin to both Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders this winter, skiers and riders have plenty of days ahead to see why we’ve been the Legend for 80 years,” said Alan Henceroth, president and chief operating officer of Arapahoe Basin.
The ski area will mark its anniversary with community events throughout the season.
The opening kicks off the 2026-27 winter season for the Ikon Pass network, which includes more than 70 destinations worldwide. With snow falling and temperatures dropping, additional destination openings are approaching.
