Atomic promotes Guzman to senior post, aims for freeskiing dominance{mosimage}Atomic Ski has recently promoted Eduardo Guzman to senior director of competition and athletics. The creation of this new director position is an effort to raise Atomic’s level of involvement in the world of freeskiing to the same pinnacle as its involvement in alpine racing.

Having spent numerous seasons in the competitive arena for Atomic, Guzman brings veteran experience and focus to the company’s commitment to the freeskiing market. No stranger to the world of competitive skiing, Guzman was formerly Atomic’s U.S. race director, responsible for all aspects of Atomic’s alpine racing programs in the United States.

In his new role, Guzman’s responsibilities shift from national to global, as his duties now include managing Atomic’s global freeride team and elite U.S. racing athletes. In this capacity, Guzman will report directly to Atomic’s Austrian headquarters. Guzman will also oversee Atomic’s International Freeride Team manager, Rex Thomas.

“Atomic has successfully defended the men’s World Cup overall title for eleven consecutive years,” Guzman said. “Now we plan to apply the same resources, dedication and winning spirit to the freeride market.”

Stacked with some of the best talent on the hill, Atomic’s International Freeride Team roster for the 2007 season includes pros PY Leblanc, Sven Kueenle, Tom Dolezel, Travis Redd, Charley Ager, Jossi Wells and Ashley Saba. The Atomic lineup also includes amateurs Cedric Tremblay Fornier, Byron Wells, Maude Raymond, Charles Grant, Dylon Natale, Josh Stack and Brandon “Sherpa” Kelly.

Look for these skiers to be setting new standards in this year’s films by Level 1 Productions, Theory 3 Media, The Bigger Picture and Les Nuits De La Glisse. Also look for a special appearance by former World Cup star Daron Rahlves in Matchstick Productions’ new release.

Athlete-driven throughout, all graphics for Atomic’s new Fly, Float and Grind skis have been created in conjunction with West Coast USA-based agency “Generation.” The FFG collection includes hot new models such as the Thug, Pimp, Triplets, She Devil, Big Daddy and Snoop Daddy for 2006-07.
