The athletes of the Austrian European Cup and junior teams, including both the speed and technical groups, have started training together for the 2014-15 season.

The men kicked off their annual SpeedBlock in Moelltal at the same time that the technical group tested equipment for next season. The second training block was carried out this year on the Stubai Glacier, where the athletes were challenged by courses set through a wave track.

The team’s focus was on basic technique and position, and two telemark instructors also worked with the group on mastering the fundamentals.

“In the three training groups, there is a really good mood and the guys are working with the coaching staff and are very focused on their homework,” expressed junior coordinator Juergen Graller.

Following the on-snow training, the technical team gathered for a fitness course at the Tauern Spa in Zell am See to further work on basic endurance and improve coordination.
