Bradshaw Underhill spent four standout years at Middlebury College, making his mark on the slopes, the golf course, and in the classroom.
A physics major and two-sport NCAA athlete in alpine skiing and golf, he balanced it all with heart, strong time management, and consistency.
As a three-year captain of the alpine ski team, Bradshaw chased leader’s bibs, NCAA titles, carnival podiums, and everything in between. Off the hill, he kept pace in the classroom and on the green, earning him the prestigious College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America At-Large honor, one of the highest awards for student-athletes.
Bradshaw stated, “I’m really happy to represent Middlebury Skiing and Middlebury Golf in that way, putting my best foot forward out there and getting the award. I think that was sweet, and I was happy.”
An Elite Honor: CSC Academic All-America At-Large
Bradshaw admitted he wasn’t too familiar with the CSC Academic All-America At-Large honor before receiving it, but earning it took serious dedication. To reach that level, three key things had to come together for him:
- Excel in the sport
- Have a high GPA (3.5 or above)
- Receive a nomination by the school’s sports information department
He smashed all three of these accolades and became the first Middlebury skier and men’s golf athlete to receive this honor.
Two NCAA All-American Achievements
After finishing the regular 2025 carnival season with only four results off the podium, tallying eight EISA wins. Bradshaw had his eyes set on NCAA Championships and was a top contender for an NCAA Championship title.
During both of his first runs in the GS and slalom, he was not holding anything back. As he crossed the finish of both first runs, he came down just behind the leader, but unfortunately his two second runs didn’t come together for a victory. Nevertheless, he earned a 4th and 6th-place result, which led to becoming an NCAA All-American in both disciplines.
He explained, “I didn’t put down the best second runs that I could have, but I was still very happy with the results.”
“I had the goal of being an All-American in the NCAAs. I missed that a couple of times with some unfortunate results there [at Championships], so I was really pumped to get that done,” he continued.
A Carnival to Remember
One of Bradshaw’s goals for his last collegiate season was to win the Middlebury Carnival giant slalom, a race he had narrowly missed out on three times before.
With the full support of the student body lining the hill, he finally clinched the top spot in front of a roaring Middlebury crowd, which made the victory even more meaningful.
Adding to the celebration, Bradshaw also captured the slalom win, calling it “the cherry on top.”
The GS win was especially memorable as he shared the podium with teammate Nick Unkovskoy, finishing one-two. “It was really fun for both of us,” he reflected.
Advice for Collegiate Athletes Balancing Sports and Academics
The answer seemed simple to Bradshaw when asked how he was able to juggle everything at Middlebury.
“Time management,” he stated.
Bradshaw explained, “It’s a skill that’s very important, but I also think it’s a skill that everybody can have because it can be worked on.”
Looking Ahead with Apex2100 Academy
As the 2026 season approaches, Bradshaw is set to join Apex2100, aiming to further his progress in the sport.
He stated, “For this year I want to be winning the NorAm overall, which is the big goal that I have.”
Additionally, he mentioned aspirations to compete at various levels, focusing on achieving consistency in Europe Cup races and breaking into the World Cup circuit.
