Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen led the charge for the men in the giant slalom in Alta Badia, winning 0.31 seconds over surprise podium and hard-charger in bib 35, Cyprien Sarrazin from France. Overall Norway packed five men into the top 12, an unusual feat for the Scandanavian men in the technical discipline.

Leif Haugen-Nestvold had finished the first run in the lead but slipped back ten places after a mistake in the second run. Slovenia’s Zan Kranjec finished out the podium in third, 0.39 seconds off of Kristoffersen.

Team USA members, Ryan Cochran-Seigle and Tommy Ford finished 19th and 20th respectively.
