DENVER, COLORADO, UNITED STATES — Chris Anthony, professional skier, filmmaker, and Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame inductee, is excited to announce the East Coast tour dates for his award-winning documentary Mission Mt. Mangart. This film showcases the legendary story of the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during World War II.

The documentary, written, directed, edited, and produced by Anthony, follows the trailblazing efforts of the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division in the Julian Alps from their creation to the end of the war. Anthony even composed the film’s original score in partnership with American composer Carlo Nicolau. The film shines a light on the untold stories of the 10th Mountain Division, which Anthony discovered by chance while on a skiing trip to Italy.

“When I heard the soldiers’ stories about the ski race on Mangart, I knew I had to make this film,” Anthony said. “Mission Mt. Mangart isn’t just a documentary about a mountain—it’s an epic story that preserves the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division and their connection to Camp Hale in Colorado. It’s a story for everyone who loves to ski and appreciates the mountains.”

About Mission Mt. Mangart

The documentary traces the 10th Mountain Division’s role in securing victory in Italy and their unexpected ski race on Mt. Mangart in May 1945. It highlights how the Division transitioned from soldiers to peacekeepers at the Yugoslavian border and captures the spirit of these men, who were skiers before they were soldiers.
