There's no holding back Lara Gut-Behrami! Following her victory in the Giant Slalom on Saturday, the Swiss athlete leaves Soldeu in Andorra as the World Cup overall leader. It is the 43rd World Cup victory for the 32-year-old and her ninth in this discipline. AJ Hurt finishes third to win her second podium in the World Cup. The veteran Swede Anna Swenn Larson skied with confidence, attacking the steep long pitch and delivering the fastest time of the morning. Using a similar approach, the racer with the second-fastest time was delivered by Stiflel US Ski Team member Paula Moltzan (+0.14). The only other skier within a half second of Swenn Larson is Croatian Zrinka Ljutic (+0.42).

American ski racer Ryder Sarchett took home the men’s giant slalom gold medal and the Junior World GS Champion title. The competition was held on the Esserailloux race course at St. Jean d’Aulps resort, a challenging track that saw only 57 finishers out of a field of 152 entered.

The women competed in GS at St. Jean d'Aulps in the morning, and the men raced slalom under a pink sky at Morzine, two extraordinary resorts in France's Portes du Soleil region.
The Edge Grinding Rubber, or "gummy stone," is one of my most utilized and thought-about pieces of tuning equipment. A gummy stone can be used to remove rust. (But if you use it on your base edge, do so sparingly). Base edges are easily affected and shouldn’t be meddled with). A gummy can also be used to take the spiky-ness off of a particularly bad burr (but a file and diamond stones will do the actual fixing).

Seven GS races have already set the stage for a thrilling Kronplatz race. Lara Gut-Behrami of Switzerland leads the pack with 485 points, closely trailed by Italy's Federica Brignone with 460 points. The gap is a mere 25 points, making every turn on the ERTA slope crucial. Unfortunately, Shiffrin's and Grenier's crashes while racing in Cortina d'Ampezzo will mean they will miss the race in Kronplatz and likely eliminate them from the close battle for the season's GS title.
