Madarao Mountain Resort in Japan and two destinations in China join the Ikon Pass, bringing its Asian network to 14 resorts.
Ikon Pass is expanding its presence in Asia for the 2026–27 winter with the addition of Madarao Mountain Resort in Japan and Beidahu Ski Resort and Lake Songhua Resort in China.
The three additions bring the pass’s Asian network to 14 destinations across Japan, China and South Korea. Ikon Pass holders can now access up to 98 ski days in Asia as part of a broader network spanning 80 destinations across five continents and 13 countries.
Ikon Pass holders will receive seven days at each of the three new resorts, while Ikon Base Pass holders will receive five days at each. There are no blackout dates, but the destinations are not included on the Ikon Session Pass.
“Adding Madarao Mountain Resort, Beidahu Ski Resort and Lake Songhua Resort gives Ikon Pass holders three new reasons to ski or ride Asia,” said David Flueck, chief customer officer and president of Ikon Pass at Alterra Mountain Company. “Japan’s snow needs no introduction, and Jilin province is one of the fastest-growing ski regions in the world.”
Three New Destinations in Asia
Located in northern Nagano, Madarao Mountain Resort is known for its deep snow and tree skiing. Sixty percent of its terrain is left ungroomed, and the resort offers 12 designated tree-skiing courses.
Beidahu Ski Resort is located in China’s Jilin province at the base of the Changbai Mountains. The resort features a 160-day snow season, terrain used for elite competition and one of the largest vertical drops in Asia. Its wider and more approachable terrain also provides options for beginner and developing skiers.
Lake Songhua Resort is located approximately nine miles from downtown Jilin City. The destination offers terrain for multiple ability levels, night skiing and relatively easy access from the city. It has also been recognized as China’s Best Ski Resort for nine consecutive years.
The three resorts join an existing Ikon Pass lineup in Asia that includes Niseko United, Arai Mountain Resort, Shiga Kogen Mountain Resort, Mt.T, Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort, Furano Ski Resort, APPI Resort, NEKOMA Mountain and Zao Onsen Ski Resort in Japan.
Ikon Pass also includes Yunding Snow Park in China and Mona Yongpyong in South Korea.
Two Resorts Join Bonus Mountain Program
Ikon Pass is also adding Caberfae Peaks in Michigan and Snowy Range Ski Area in Wyoming to its Bonus Mountain program for 2026–27. Pass holders will receive two complimentary days at each destination.
Caberfae Peaks is located within Michigan’s Manistee National Forest and has operated for nearly 90 years. Snowy Range Ski Area, located in Wyoming’s Medicine Bow National Forest, offers 30 trails and 990 feet of vertical terrain.
The two resorts join Bonus Mountain partners in British Columbia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Idaho and New Hampshire.
