Swiss ski manufacturer Stoeckli has reinforced its recent decision to become an official supplier to the U.S. Ski Team by signing Tim Jitloff to a two-year agreement. Jitloff, a GS specialist, is a former Junior World Champion, two-time Olympian and a five-time U.S. National Champion. He is currently ranked 16th in the world in giant slalom.

“I am really happy to be joining Stoeckli,” Jitloff said. “I had a very respectable season last year. Many people might wonder why I would switch companies going into a world championship year — but I tested the product and was completely blown away by its performance. The skis were rock solid, and after only two days, I felt I was skiing better than I ever had. Stoeckli has a history of picking up small contingents of athletes and providing them the service, equipment, and effort required to get them to the top.” Jitloff also felt that Stoeckli provided unique opportunities for product development. “The desire to do whatever it takes also gives me huge amounts of confidence. If we have a design idea, the factory can have it built in 10 days, and the next day we are on the glacier testing. My motivation is high, and my energy is refreshed!”

George Couperthwait, General Manager for Stoeckli North America, is equally excited to have Jitloff on board. “The Stoeckli strategy to partner with the U.S. Ski Team and work with athletes like Tim reinforces our plan to grow the brand in the U.S. The skis that Tim will use at the highest level of the sport are made in the same factory, use most of the same materials and manufacturing processes as the Stoeckli skis that every skier has access to through our retail partners. His results will significantly reinforce Stoeckli as the markets best choice for premium performance skis.”

In preparation for the upcoming world championship season, Stoeckli has also been expanding its international presence as well. Joining Tina Maze to the international program are world-class athletes Viktoria Rebensburg of Germany and Carolina Ruiz Castillo of Spain. Also newly under contract with Stoeckli are Andrej Sporn (SLO), Simona Hösl (GER) and Patrizia Dorsch (GER).

With these new additions, the Stoeckli team stands on an even broader footing. “We look forward to our new obligations and would like to heartily welcome all new athletes to our ski family! As we were looking to expand our racing program, it’s really a fantastic feeling to outfit such a strong team,” remarked Race Director Dani Zueger.
