Loveland Ski Club (LSC) is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director to lead one of the Rocky Mountain region’s premier ski training organizations. This full-time, year-round leadership role oversees the operations, staff, and daily delivery of LSC’s programs while ensuring a high-quality athlete and community experience.

Loveland Ski Club operates at 10,800 feet in the Colorado Rockies and offers one of the longest and most consistent ski training seasons in the country. In partnership with Loveland Ski Area, the club delivers alpine and all-mountain programs grounded in skill development, safety, professionalism, and a strong athlete experience across all levels.

Loveland Ski Club hosts major competitions and provides year-round training opportunities, including:

- The Loveland Derby — the oldest continuously run amateur ski race
The club’s extended training season includes:
- Fall lane training (Oct–Nov)
- Winter competition season
- Spring lane training (May–June)
Position Overview
The Executive Director is responsible for the operational leadership of Loveland Ski Club’s programs, staff, and day-to-day execution.
This role leads coaching leadership, operations staff, and administrative teams while ensuring programs are delivered professionally and consistently across all disciplines.
The Executive Director is a visible on-mountain leader, supporting daily operations while maintaining clear role ownership across staff. The position remains actively involved in program delivery, communication, logistics, and athlete support while addressing operational challenges as they arise.
The Executive Director also plays an important role in community engagement and partnerships, working with industry partners, sponsors, and the broader ski community to support the club’s continued growth.
The position reports to the President of the Board.

Leadership Scope
- Direct leadership of approximately 5–6 full-time staff across coaching leadership, operations, and administration
- Oversight of seasonal coaching staff
- Hiring, staffing structure, role clarity, and performance management
- Active management of LSC’s operating budget
- Growing LSC’s visibility and participation within the ski community to attract athletes, coaches, and sponsors
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily program execution and on-mountain operations across all teams
- Support real-time operational needs while reinforcing accountability and ownership
- Serve as an escalation point for operational challenges
- Secure sponsorships to support programs and athletes
- Manage lane training operations for visiting teams, including scheduling, staffing, safety, and on-hill coordination
- Ensure effective delivery of LSC-hosted races and events, including staffing, safety planning, and compliance with US Ski & Snowboard and Rocky Mountain Division requirements
- Promote visibility of club events and activities within the ski community
Staff Leadership & Development
- Hire, onboard, lead, and evaluate full-time and seasonal staff
- Establish expectations around professionalism, safety, and athlete experience
- Ensure compliance with SafeSport, coaching certification, and training requirements
Mountain Operations & Events
- Oversee training schedules, venue access, lane usage, and equipment needs
- Coordinate fall training operations with Loveland Ski Area
Risk, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure implementation of safety protocols and communication plans
- Oversee incident reporting and weather-related operational adjustments
- Maintain compliance with LSC policies, SafeSport, and governing-body requirements
Stakeholder & Administrative Leadership
- Maintain clear communication with parents and club members
- Represent the club with Loveland Ski Area, partners, sponsors, and donors
- Partner with the Board and Finance Committee on budgeting and operational updates
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing a nonprofit, ski program, or youth athletic organization
- Familiarity with ski racing, alpine, all-mountain, or youth athlete development programs
- Proven success managing teams and operations in dynamic environments
- Strong judgment, leadership presence, and communication skills
- Comfort leading on-mountain teams and operations
- US Ski & Snowboard certification preferred
- SafeSport and CPR/First Aid certification required (or obtainable)
Work Location & Schedule
This is an on-site role based at Loveland Ski Area and Loveland Ski Club facilities.
The position requires schedule flexibility, including:
- Early mornings
- Weekends and holidays
- Peak season availability during training and race periods

Compensation
Salary Range: $95,000 – $125,000
