Alpine Racing Collective (ARC), a boutique youth alpine ski racing program based in Park City, Utah, closed its third competitive season as the top per-athlete performer in the Intermountain Division (IMD) South Series — a 17-club, three-state field spanning Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. With its athlete-first operating model validated across the U8–U12 age classes, ARC has confirmed a full U14 squad for the 2026-27 season, with a U16 expansion to follow once the right coaching staff is in place, and a long-term
development pathway aimed at FIS-level competition.
ARC Delivers Standout Results in IMD U12 Championships
At the 2026 IMD U12 Championships in Jackson Hole, ARC’s 35-athlete program delivered one of the most efficient performances in the division:
- 11 athletes → 11 top-5 finishes (1.000 per-athlete rate)
- Next-best club: Snowbird (SB) at 0.308
- Division-wide average: 0.139
Across six races (30 total top-5 positions), ARC accounted for 11 of 30 top-5 finishes (36.7%) while representing roughly 5% of the 216-athlete field.
ARC also posted a 36.4% top-5 rate per start (11 results across 33 starts), the highest in the division.

Athlete-First Model Driving Performance
Founded in 2022 by Head Coach Chris Probert, ARC is built around a simple premise: high performance and athlete-centered development are not trade-offs—they reinforce each other.
The program maintains:
- A strict 6:1 athlete-to-coach ratio
- Individualized video analysis and Protern.io sensor feedback
- Continuity of coaching relationships across the season
ARC’s Alpine Director is Cody Marshall, a former U.S. Ski Team World Cup slalom competitor who joined the program in 2025 after a career in alpine equipment and technical apparel. Under Marshall’s direction, ARC maintains a six-athlete-to-one-coach ratio as a non-negotiable ceiling, paired with individualized video review, Protern.io wearable-sensor feedback, and continuity of relationships across the season.

Depth Across Boys and Girls Rankings
ARC placed six athletes in the IMD South Series top 10, including four boys and two girls.

Strong Pipeline From U8 to U12
ARC’s depth extended into younger age classes at the YSL Finals:
- Thayne Stephens (U8) – GS and SL wins, Overall Champion
- Ava Penksa (U10) – Slalom winner
- Multiple additional top-5 finishes across U10 categories
The program also raced select U10 athletes up at U12 Championships, where they continued to podium against older competition.

Adapting to a Historic Low-Snow Season
The 2025–26 Wasatch winter recorded the lowest snowfall on record, forcing widespread training disruptions across the region.
ARC responded with:
- Early-season training camps in Wyoming and Colorado
- Flexible scheduling and multi-resort training
- Strong collaboration with local schools to maintain training volume
Beginning in 2026–27, that flexibility becomes structural, with partner schools introducing early-release schedules and direct transport to training venues, creating a more aligned academic-athletic pathway.
2026–27 Expansion: Full U14 Program Confirmed
ARC will launch a full U14 squad in 2026–27, maintaining its coaching ratios and development standards.
- U16 expansion planned, contingent on staffing
- Continued investment in video analysis and sensor-based training
- Enrollment open with limited roster spots to preserve program quality

A Model With National Ambition
ARC positions its results as part of a broader goal: raising the standard of youth alpine ski racing in the United States through an athlete-first approach.
