Race Coverage
Prepare for an exhilarating clash of titans as the men gear up to conquer the Val d'Isère Giant Slalom (GS) showdown on Saturday, December 9th.
Peter LangeDec 08, 2023This weekend, in St. Moritz, Switzerland, the women are clicking into their speed skis for two super-G races and one downhill. After her stellar win last year on the Corviglia super-G track, Mikaela Shiffrin will go all out to achieve gold again.
Ellie HartmanDec 07, 2023It’s a serious step to add downhill to one’s repertoire. Still, for Radamus, who lives in nearby Edwards and grew up racing with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail, it seemed only appropriate for the World Cup’s one-stop at his home hill to be the place for his inaugural downhill race. However, with both downhill races canceled at Beaver Creek due to the weekend's inclement weather, River Radamus’ World Cup downhill debut will have to wait.
Shauna FarnellDec 06, 2023The first North American Cup (NorAm) is underway in Copper Mountain, Colorado! Both fields will be racing two days of downhill, on December 6th and 7th. Then, on December 8th, the men will compete in two super-G races, and the women will have their super-Gs on December 9th.
Ellie HartmanDec 06, 2023Given the increasing crossover between speed and tech, as well as the gap for athletes seeking international race experience who aren’t yet ready to step up to the World Cup, a new women’s team has formed this year, focusing on giant slalom and Super G and competitors on both the Europa Cup and World Cup.
Shauna FarnellDec 05, 2023The Stifel U.S. Ski Team member from Aspen, Colorado, Stella Johansson, faced a setback in the first European Cup race of the 2023/24 season.
Peter Gerber PlechDec 05, 2023An International Olympic Committee (IOC) dual award appears likely with France potentially securing 2030 and Utah bringing home 2034. In a surprising turn, they left Sweden's favored bid out in the cold. Switzerland's latest bid, now named 2030x, has been set aside until 2038.

Ellie HartmanNov 29, 2023Before the protective fencing is installed, the dedicated men and women at Beaver Creek Mountain Operations invest countless hours meticulously crafting perfect snow and grooming the course. The Beaver Creek Birds of Prey race wouldn't be possible without these unsung heroes. They are the heartbeat of the event, and Ski Racing Media is eager to recognize their crucial contribution.
Peter LangeNov 27, 2023Mikaela Shiffrin wins her second slalom of the new season. After Petra Vlhová put down a seemingly unbeatable second run and took a huge lead, Shiffrin delivered an even better performance. The Stifel Killington Cup victory represents her sixth Killington World Cup slalom victory and her career 55th. It also brings her career World Cup victory total to 90. However, after six runs of women's slalom, it is clear that Vlhová is far from conceding the 2024 slalom title. Hopefully, this battle of the Titans will still be undecided until the finals.
Peter LangeNov 26, 2023For the first time this season, Slovakia's Petra Vlhová wasn't the fastest during a slalom run she finished. Today, Stifel US Ski Team superstar Mikaela Shiffrin will take the lead into the afternoon finale. Shiffrin mentioned before the Sölden race that, for multiple reasons, she would build into the season. If this run was just another step forward, the rest of the season will likely be fantastic. Shiffrin has always worked tirelessly to improve, It is promising ski racing fans will continue to be entertained by her excellent performances.
