It is opening day on the Rettenbach Glacier in Sölden. Winter is returning to the European Alps and the Austrian glaciers are starting to offer training. As of September 23rd, skiing is available in Sölden. Although it is currently limited to what you see in the photos, with more snow in the forecast, expect additional terrain to be available shortly.
Undeniably, this is excellent news for everyone planning a training camp in Austria.
Good things are happening in Europe and positive information continues to flow in from our friends across the Atlantic.
Additionally, sources skiing on the Rettenbach Glacier slope reported seeing the snow guns operating on the World Cup slope. Get excited: the women will race their World Cup opener on October 22nd and the men will follow on the 23rd.
Rumor is Pitztal will offer five days of training to the Austrian and German teams starting on the 26th of September. The rest of the world should have access starting on the 1st of October.
