Step inside Schigymnasium Stams

The ski academy of Stams in Tirol, western Austria, has been churning out Olympic and world champions for the past 50 years. Alumni include a number of current World Cup stars like Benni Raich, Reinfried Herbst, Elisabeth Goergl, Fritz Dopfer, and Eva-Maria Brem as well as recent retirees Marlies Schild, Niki Hosp, and Mario Matt. AFP news agency spent some time at the famed school last fall to explore what elements lead to its athletes’ numerous successes on the professional stage.
