At the NorAm speed event in Kimberley, BC, Canada, the athletes raced two days of downhill and two days of super-G. Haley Cutler and Raphael Lessard won both days.
In 2022, Haley Cutler was doing what most of the ski racing world was doing—watching the Beijing Winter Olympics. Among the competitors in the speed events were former peers, women she had either grown up racing with or encountered on the FIS circuit. She was overcome with a revelation: “We’ve all competed against each other before. Why can't we do that again? Why can't I be there with them?”
The NorAm Finals kicked off with a downhill race. Challenging weather conditions canceled the second downhill race. Isaiah Nelson and Allison Mollin won and earned downhill NorAm Cup Titles. Wiley Maple and Haley Cutler also achieved the second NorAm Cup downhill titles.
