Team Summit Colorado is seeking an experienced and driven Advancement & Development Director to lead its fundraising, community engagement, and event operations efforts. This leadership role is central to ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of one of Colorado’s premier youth ski and snowboard programs.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Advancement & Development Director will oversee all aspects of development strategy—from major gifts and grants to signature events—while helping to amplify Team Summit’s impact across the mountain community.
A Leadership Role at the Heart of the Organization
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Team Summit Colorado by building meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. The Director will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission.
Core responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing multi-channel fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, and digital campaigns
- Cultivating and stewarding donor relationships while improving engagement and retention
- Leading data-driven decision-making through donor database management and fundraising analytics
- Managing and mentoring key staff across fundraising, outreach, and media teams
Driving Grants, Events, and Community Impact
The role also plays a critical part in securing institutional funding and delivering high-impact events that are staples of the Summit County community. From crafting compelling grant proposals to overseeing marquee events like the Ski Ball, Eat, Ski & Be Merry, and the Ski & Snowboard Swap, the Director ensures both operational excellence and strong financial outcomes.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Identifying and managing grant opportunities and reporting requirements
- Overseeing event logistics, volunteer coordination, and community outreach efforts
- Leading marketing and communications strategies, including digital campaigns, media relations, and brand storytelling
Ideal Candidate Profile
Team Summit is looking for a candidate who brings both strategic vision and hands-on execution. The ideal applicant will have:
- At least 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and marketing
- A proven track record in major gifts, grants, and event management
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messaging
- Experience working with donor databases and fundraising software
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities
A passion for skiing, youth development, and mountain communities—and a commitment to Team Summit’s mission—are essential.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000–$70,000 (DOE), with performance-based bonuses
- Benefits: ICHRA, 401(k), and ski passes
- Schedule: Must be available for weekend work as needed
