The Kananaskis Alpine Ski Club (“KASC”) is a member club of the Nakiska Alpine Ski Association (“NASA”) located in Calgary, AB. NASA consists of 5 independent ski clubs comprising 300+ athletes and 40+ coaches. Working in conjunction with the other NASA member clubs, KASC is committed to delivering an athletic program to Canada’s most promising and dedicated U16 alpine skiers so they can attain their maximum individual athletic potential. Our goal is to raise the bar in the standard of athlete and ski racer development while keeping the cost of the sport accessible to as many families as possible.
Reporting to the Program Director, the Head U16 Coach plays a key role in developing our young talent and providing our FIS program with athletes possessing; solid technical base, tactical knowledge, work ethic, passion and desire to succeed.
KASC is seeking a U16 Head Coach for the 2025-26 Season
Reporting to the NASA Program Director (PD), the U16 Head Coach plays a key role in developing our young talent and providing our FIS team with athletes possessing solid technical base, tactical knowledge, work ethic, passion, and a desire to succeed.
Responsibilities
• In coordination with the NASA Strength and Conditioning coach, deliver the dryland training program.
• In coordination with the NASA PD, develop a nation leading U16 program.
• Align with ACA LTAD pathway for program design.
• Provide a safe and challenging on-snow training environment appropriate for athletic development.
• Deliver all aspects of the on-snow training and competition program.
• Create an environment where our top talent can rise to their potential.
• Take ownership of the athletes’ development & results.
• Lead a coaching team of two or more Assistant Coaches.
• Provide leadership to their staff and problem solve within their scope of work.
• Drive team van to training and competition venues as needed.
∙ Work with NASA Transportation Safety Officer (TSO) to ensure all KASC vehicles are operating in compliance with the NASA Driver Safety and Vehicle Maintenance Program.
∙ Ensure all KASC issued equipment is maintained and operational throughout the season.
∙ Understand the full NASA program and its structure. Actively promote the Club to internal and external parties.
∙ Ensure all athletes abide by the NASA Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
∙ 3+ years as a Head Coach at U16 or younger and/or 5+ years’ experience coaching at U16 or higher.
∙ Minimum ACA Development Level Certified. Performance Level Trained/Certified preferred.
∙ Personal high-level competition experiences an asset.
∙ Ability to travel abroad for camps and competitions.
∙ Valid Alberta class 4 driver’s license or willingness to obtain.
∙ Experience working effectively with parents, athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
∙ Track record of successfully developing athletes to the top of their age class.
∙ Team player able to work well and communicate with other members of a larger coaching team.

• Ability to travel abroad for camps and races and drive team van to training and competition venues as needed.

Working in conjunction with the other NASA member clubs, PASKA is committed to delivering an athletic program to Canada’s most promising and dedicated U14 alpine skiers so they can attain their maximum individual athletic potential. Our goal is to raise the bar in the standard of athlete and ski racer development while keeping the cost of the sport accessible to as many families as possible.

Implement a Nation leading U14 program by:
∙ Implementing daily lesson plans based on the focus of each block of training.
∙ Implementing dryland program as designed by NASA Strength and Conditioning co-ordinator.
∙ Providing challenging on-snow training environments.
∙ Ensuring a safe training & race environment for all athletes while delivering the content in a fun and creative way;
∙ Taking ownership of the athletes’ development;
∙ Keeping up to date training journals, attendance records and completing report cards for all athletes;
∙ Course setting as needed to meet the daily objectives.
∙ Ensuring all athletes are abiding by the NASA Code of Conduct.
∙ Leading a team of U14 assistant coaches and providing technical direction to the U14 staff.
∙ Understanding the full NASA program and its structure; actively promote the Club to internal and external parties.
Qualifications
∙ 5+ years’ general ski coaching experience or 2+ years’ experience coaching at U14 or higher
∙ ACA DL – Certified
∙ Personal high-level competition experiences an asset
∙ Valid Alberta Class 4 driver’s license or willing to obtain
∙ Strong understanding and knowledge of the ACA LTAD plan

Evolve Ski Cross Club Assistant Coach
The Evolve Ski Cross Club (“Evolve”) is a member club of the Nakiska Alpine Ski Association (“NASA”) located in Calgary, AB. NASA consists of 6 independent ski clubs comprising 330+ athletes and 40+ coaches. Working in conjunction with the other NASA member clubs, Evolve is committed to delivering an annual athletic program with 100+ dryland days and 110+ days on snow, to Canada’s next generation of Ski Cross athletes so they can attain their maximum, individual athletic potential.
Reporting to the Evolve Head Coach (HC), the Evolve Assistant Coach plays a key role in developing our young talent and providing our Evolve team with athletes possessing solid technical base, tactical knowledge, work ethic, passion, and a desire to succeed. Experience racing or coaching ski cross is considered an asset; However, is NOT required for a candidate with alpine coaching experience.
Responsibilities
• Work with HC in designing daily goals for training sessions based on the focus of each block of training.
• Provide a safe and challenging on-snow training environment appropriate for athletic development.
• Deliver dryland training program as outlined by Head Coach and Strength and Conditioning coach.
• Course setting, video analysis and timing set-up.
• Take ownership of the athletes’ development.
• Submit expenses to HC in a concise, complete, and timely manner.
• Keep up to date training statistics, attendance records and complete report cards for all athletes.
• Ensure all athletes abide by the NASA Code of Conduct.
• As needed, assist in the expense reporting post competition or training camps.
• As needed, assist in the planning and organizing of training camps and/or competitions.
• As needed, assist in the preparation of athlete’s skis prior to and during competitions.
• Ability to travel abroad for camps and races and drive team van to training and competition venues as needed.
∙ Work with NASA Transportation Safety Officer (TSO) to ensure all Evolve vehicles are operating in compliance with the NASA Driver Safety and Vehicle Maintenance Program.
∙ Ensure all Evolve issued equipment is maintained and operational throughout the season.
∙ Understand the full NASA program and its structure. Actively promote the Club to internal and external parties.
Qualifications
∙ 3+ years’ general ski coaching experience or 2+ years’ experience coaching at U16 or higher.
∙ ACA Ski Cross – Trained or willing to obtain. Development Level Certified in alpine an asset.
∙ Personal high-level competition experience in Ski Cross or Alpine racing an asset.
∙ Knowledge of tuning and preparing skis for competition or willing to obtain.
∙ Valid Alberta class 4 driver’s license or willing to obtain.
∙ Experience working effectively with parents, athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders.
∙ Good technical and tactical knowledge of the LTAD plan
