Who is racing, when and how to watch the Flachau night slalom

Tomorrow’s Flachau night slalom offers Mikaela Shiffrin her first opportunity to set a new women’s all-time World Cup win record. To do so, she will have to defeat a strong field of amazing women. However, it appears that when she is on her game, she is unstoppable. For North Americans, the best part of this race is you can watch it live after the sun rises. Being a stand-alone race on the World Cup means the schedule needs to make no compromises. There are no guarantees in sports but this will be North America’s easiest opportunity to witness a potential record-breaking performance.

In the US, the race is available on Peacock TV

The first run of the race will begin at noon Eastern time and 9:00 am on the West Coast. The final run will start at 2:45 pm Eastern time and at 11:45 am on the West Coast. If your heart desires a great opportunity to witness Shiffrin win a record-breaking 83rd World Cup, don’t miss the live feed tomorrow. Notably, the race is in Austria; for all Austrian races, US audiences must use Peacock TV to view the event live.

USA’s Paula Moltzan is one of the elite athletes who will challenge Shiffrin for the win. Moltzan recently experienced her first podium, and had Shiffrin made a small mistake, Moltzan was waiting in the finish, ready to accept an earned victory. Additionally, Canada’s Ali Nullmeyer just watched her teammate win a GS in Kranjska Gora and is ready to show the world she also has what it takes to stand on the steps.

Flachau is not steep. The snow surface and the severity of the man-made terrain will determine the difficulty of the race slope. They have watered the hill but the weather remains warm and snow is in the forecast. There will be a lot of shoveling occurring throughout the day in an effort to create the best possible snow surface.

One thing is certain; there is no shortage of international racers capable of winning. To make it even more difficult, Shiffrin’s skiing has informed the entire field they will need to perform at their limit to claim the victory.

The North American teams have entered ten women. The Canadians have three on the start list and the Stifel US Alpine Team has seven.
