Who is racing, when and how to watch the women’s Crans Montana downhill

The women’s World Cup resumes in Crans Montana Switzerland, with a downhill tomorrow Saturday, February 25th. Although athletes were allowed to inspect the course, in an attempt to preserve the track. due to recent mild temperatures, Thursday’s training run was canceled. Consequently, the warm snow continued to cause issues on Friday. Many of the women were unable to complete their only training run without significant difficulty.

Notably, Crans Montana will host of the 2027 Alpine World Ski Championships.

The weather forecast also presents challenges for Saturday’s downhill. Overnight snow flurries are expected and temperatures will only be slightly below freezing. Hopefully, tomorrow’s race will be executed as planned.

Mikaela Shiffrin, USA’s best-ranked downhill skier will not be competing this weekend in Switzerland. She is scheduled to resume her World Cup racing on March 1st in Kvitjell Norway. However, even though World Cup downhill leader Sofia Goggia did not finish the only training run she is ready to race.

With three scheduled downhills remaining in the season, the current World Cup standings are offered below.
