In today’s presidential conference, those responsible for the Austrian Ski Association unanimously decided how the ÖSV will position itself in future. “In order to meet the extensive challenges of the future, the most successful sports association in Austria relies on a management team,” reads the Austrian press release.
As president, Roswitha Stadlober will preside over the ÖSV. Stadlober is a former slalom racer who took over on an interim basis after Karl Schmidhofer’s sudden resignation less than 100 days into his tenure. Stadlober’s position was made permanent with Wednesday’s vote.
After 22 men in the role, Stadlober becomes the first woman to hold the office.
“We are entering a new age,” said Stadlober in an initial statement to the ORF .
At her side, Patrick Ortlieb will take over the management of all corporations as financial advisor, together with Secretary General Christian Scherer. Ortlieb is thus responsible for the association’s economic interests. GS Scherer will continue to lead the operational area.
