Due to strong winds and snowy weather conditions, the super-G World Cup has been canceled. This will be the 6th World Cup cancellation this season for the men. The Beaver Creek course crew and volunteers were out early, working hard to get the course prepared for racing. However, the wind was blowing too hard, which led to safety concerns for the race.
This has been a challenging early season for the men’s speed teams because weather has restricted them from pushing out of a start gate. Nevertheless, the men have stayed focused and positive. They will keep their chins held high, and are now preparing for the next downhill and super-G races in Val Gardena/ Groeden, beginning on December 12th. On December 14th, the downhill will replace the Zermatt-Cervinia cancellation, the men will race super-G on December 15th, and finish with a downhill on December 16th.

The Beaver Creek crews, Vail Valley Foundation, and all of the dedicated volunteers have done an excellent job this weekend keeping the enthusiasm high. The festivities brought out the fan’s excitement for the sport. The athletes will gear up to head back over seas, so stay tuned for more updates to come on the Val Gardena schedule.
