The upcoming Gear Testing season is fast approaching! Alpine ski racing boot and ski brands are preparing to establish their presence at different off-season training destinations, offering athletes of all ages the opportunity to test their equipment.

Gear Testing plays a crucial role in familiarizing oneself with the gear being used, exploring other available options, discovering new products for the upcoming season, and much more. These companies aim to provide athletes with the finest equipment to maximize their chances of success.

Atomic

Atomic is getting stoked for the upcoming ski camp season by announcing its North American test schedule for spring and early summer 2024.

Atomic plans to debut its newest race product for the upcoming 24/25 season which will include the new 184cm, 25meter Redster JR GS ski, as well as the all new ICON interface bindings, the ICON 16RS, ICON 12RS, ICON 12 and ICON 10.

Atomic will also have its full assortment of Redster HD Goggles available for on-hill testing. Made with World Cup DNA, Atomic Redster HD goggles provide superior clarity and the confidence needed to tackle even the most demanding race courses.

Dalbello

The Dalbello Race Department is excited to return to Mt. Hood this summer with the Dalbello Race Demo Center in Government Camp. All level athletes will be able to test the DRS race collection. Featuring the DRS 60, DRS 75 and DRS WC XS J for junior athletes, the DRS 97mm last collection and the DRS WC collection skied by Dalbello’s top level World Cup athletes. We encourage you to stop by the demo center to check out Dalbello’s full race line this summer. Open daily from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Dynastar

Dynastar is thrilled to unveil its new 2024-25 race collection at its Race Test Center in Government Camp, OR this summer. Athletes can get a firsthand feel for the latest Race Department innovations and interact with Dynastar’s team of experts, who will be on hand to offer personalized advice and guidance. Dynastar’s process-driven WC +1 concept brings the opportunity and access to real World Cup proven ski constructions and performance to all FIS and junior level athletes. One-year to 18 months after a model is validated at the World Cup level, Dynastar provides the same superior quality to all FIS level athletes.

The Fischer team is fully prepared for the upcoming 2024-25 season and eagerly anticipates the arrival of new products. Athletes will have the opportunity to try out the latest advancements in Fischer’s Alpine racing gear and receive expert advice from the team regarding the equipment options available. HEAD

HEAD is excited to unveil the latest race skis and boots for the coming 2024/25 season. Building on a stellar performance in the 2023/24 season, HEAD reaffirms its dominance in the Alpine Ski World Cup. In total, the HEAD World Cup Rebels proudly attained the top step of the podium a remarkable 17 times this season, with an also impressive tally of 22 second-place finishes and 17 third-place finishes. The 2024/25 World Cup Rebels racing equipment collection is currently available for athletes to test. Notable product updates including, the new Sizesplits for 24/25 Junior Race skis and the new “Speed Blue” colored P-Tex 2000 HC Bases.

Stöckli

Stöckli, the Swiss ski manufacturer known for its dedication to crafting exceptional skis built for perfection, is excited to announce the return of its Test Center to Mt. Hood for the second year running. Stöckli crafts race skis for all ages and levels, including champions like Marco Odermatt, Thomas Tumler, and Lila Lapanja. After a fantastic response last season, racers will once again get the chance to invest in perfection by trying out Stöckli skis, which will help any young racer get to the top of their game.

Völkl

The Völkl Race Department will return to Mt. Hood this summer with the Völkl Race Demo Center in Government Camp. Junior and FIS level athletes will be able to test the full collection of 24/25 skis from Völkl’s Race Department. Highlights for the new season include the new 150cm Junior slalom ski with the Marker WC Piston Plate as well as the new 155cm FIS slalom and 157cm WC FIS slalom skis both with Völkl’s Tailored Carbon Tip technology. All test skis feature Marker’s new Comp binding collection for 24/25. We encourage you to stop by the Demo Center to check out the whole collection this summer. Open daily from 12pm to 4pm.

Ellie Hartman was born and raised in Breckenridge, Colorado, and was on skis soon after she was able to walk. She raced for Team Summit, out of Copper Mountain, from the age of five until she was 18. Unfortunately, her ski racing career ended when she did not make a NCAA ski team, but to her surprise, it opened up a new door where she was recruited to row NCAA D2 crew for Barry University in Miami, Florida. After becoming captain and winning two NCAA Championships, she received her Masters in Business Administration. After 4 years spending time working, traveling and writing, Ellie went back to Miami to assistant coach the University of Miami Women's Rowing Team and get a another degree in a Master's of Professional Science for Marine Conservation. She has spent the last year as a Communications Specialist, Research Assistant and Marine Mammal Observer for NOAA's Southeast Fisheries Science Center. After her contract ended, she was excited to find her way back into the ski racing world! Ellie enjoys skiing, ocean animals, great coffee, travel, SCUBA Diving, anything outdoors, delicious beer, and happy people.
