Canada’s Cassidy Gray landed on top of the women’s podium in the Panorama NorAm GS Wednesday. Gray finished with a time of 2:34.17. She was 0.66 seconds ahead of American Allie Resnick.

Resnick has a rocky history at this hill, injuring her knee in Panorama several years ago.

“Today was extra special for me as it was my first time on this hill since I blew out my knee on it three years ago almost to the day,” Resnick said. “The conditions were pretty good, deteriorating a little in the second run. Overall, I am very happy with todays result, and I’m excited for the next 3 days of racing.”

Joining Resnick on the podium was her American teammate Nicola Rountree-Williams. Alix Wilkinson, another American, finished in fourth. Parker Biele, also American, finished in 10th.

On the Canadian side, Sarah Bennett, Amelia Smart, and Claire Timmermann finished in sixth through eighth, respectively.

Adam Hofstedt, Reto Maechler and Ryder Sarchett finished the men’s slalom in first, second, and third, respectively.

This was Sarchett’s first NorAm podium. His previous best result in a NorAm was an 18th place in Copper in November.

“It was a tough day overall,” said Sarchett. “A lot of good skiers went out or made big mistakes. My first run was a fight the whole way down and I barely made it. Second run felt better on the tough snow and I was able to attack.”

Tucker Marshall was in first place after first run, but did not finish his second run.

There were no Canadians on the podium, but four did crack the top 10: Simon Fournier (fourth), Declan McCormack (fifth), Sam Mulligan (eighth), and Etienne Mazellier (10th).
