Seiko Prospex named official timepiece of World Pro Ski Tour
The World Pro Ski Tour (WPST) and Seiko Prospex announced today a partnership for the upcoming 2021-22 season of professional ski races. Seiko has had a long history with skiing and sports. Since 1964 Seiko has marked the moments in which new records have been set and history has been made, through the development of cutting-edge technology.
Alongside Seiko this season, the WPST will offer an expanded race calendar, including races for men as well as the Rocket Mortgage Women’s Tour. Regular tour participants include two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, World Championship silver medalist Phil Brown, and two-time WPST overall champion Rob Cone. Expected on the women’s side are U.S. Ski Team alumni and two-time Olympians Laurenne Ross and Alice McKennis Duran, as well as Canadian Olympic slalom skier Anna Goodman.
“The World Pro Ski Tour is honored to introduce Seiko Prospex as our official timepiece,” says Jon Franklin, CEO of the World Pro Ski Tour. “Our world-class racers, along with our fans and followers are achievers on and off the slopes who value accuracy, style, excitement, and craftsmanship.”
“Seiko Prospex Timepieces are built to professional specifications to perform in the most extreme conditions. They are designed for those who dare to push themselves to the limit and will always keep going forward. With new technologies and advanced designs, Seiko remains dedicated to meeting the needs of those who demand superior performance whatever the challenge. Seiko is thrilled to be partnering with the World Pro Ski Tour and supporting the athletes who will be participating,” says Eric Hofmann, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Seiko Watch of America.
The full tour schedule – including the 2022 World Pro Ski Tour World Championships from Taos, New Mexico – will be announced soon.
