Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team Nominates 49 Athletes for 2025–26 Season

Shiffrin, Johnson, Macuga, Moltzan, Vonn, Cochran-Siegle, Goldberg, Radamus and Ritchie Lead Deep, Dynamic Squad

PARK CITY, Utah (May 15, 2025) – U.S. Ski & Snowboard has nominated 49 athletes to the 2025–26 Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team, highlighting a blend of Olympic veterans, World Cup leaders, and rising talent. The nominations were made based on published selection criteria and mark the first step in the team’s journey toward the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.

The official team announcement will follow in September, once athletes accept their nominations and commit to program expectations.


Veterans, Champions, and Rising Stars Return

Mikaela Shiffrin, an eight-time world champion, Lindsey Vonn, a three-time Olympic medalist, and Ryan Cochran-Siegle, an Olympic silver medalist, lead a stacked A Team. Lauren Macuga, who earned a bronze medal in the 2025 World Championships super-G, Paula Moltzan, the 2025 giant slalom bronze medalist, and Breezy Johnson, the 2025 downhill and team combined world champion, also return and stand among the top contenders for Olympic medals in Cortina.


Breakout Seasons for Ritchie, Hensien

Ben Ritchie and Katie Hensien earned their first A Team spots. Ritchie cracked the top 20 in the World Cup slalom standings. Hensien delivered a fourth-place giant slalom finish in Soelden and wrapped the season ranked 22nd in the GS standings—both career bests.


Movement Grows in B and C Teams

Patrick Kenney rejoined the B Team after World Cup success, while Elisabeth Bocock moved up following a strong GS campaign. The C Team welcomes new names like Annika Hunt, the NorAm overall champion, and Hunter Salani, who won a Junior World Championships medal.

World Cup and Olympic Season Ahead

The 2025–26 World Cup season begins in October with men’s and women’s giant slalom races in Soelden, Austria. It includes a pause for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina, where many of these athletes will compete for podiums on the world’s biggest stage.

Three World Cup events are scheduled in the U.S.:

  • Men SG/GS /Women GS/SL Stifel Copper Cup presented by United, Copper Mountain, CO – Nov. 27–30
  • Men DH/SG/GS Stifel Birds of Prey, Beaver Creek, CO – Dec. 5–7

What’s Next

Nominated athletes must now formally accept their spots and adhere to the program criteria. The official 2025–26 Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team will be named this fall.
