The Stifel US Ski Team has officially named its 2024-25 roster, featuring athletes across various competition groups. This announcement comes from Chief of Sport Anouk Patty, who highlighted the team’s structure for the coming season, segmented into several elite World Cup groups and Europa Cup and NorAm teams.

Recognizing Last Season’s Standout Performers

Six athletes from the Stifel US Ski Team stood on World Cup podiums last season, showcasing the depth and talent of the American squad. Mikaela Shiffrin led the charge, securing multiple victories and winning the slalom title, continuing her reign as one of the all-time greats. Bryce Bennett also won the opening World Cup DH in Gröden-Val Gardena, solidifying his place as a top competitor in speed events.

Other athletes who earned World Cup podiums last season include Paula Moltzan, AJ Hurt, Jacqueline Wiles and River Radamus. Radamus’ standout moment came at his home race in Palisades Tahoe, where he achieved his first World Cup podium on the challenging Red Dog race trail, an impressive accomplishment.

World Cup Teams

The Women’s World Cup roster includes the Tech and Speed teams, while the Men’s World Cup is divided into Slalom, Giant Slalom (GS), and Speed teams. Mikaela Shiffrin, who competes in four events, works independently but joins the Tech and Speed teams as appropriate throughout the season.

Returning Women’s World Cup Tech group athletes include Katie Hensien, Ava Sunshine and Nina O’Brien, all recovering from injuries. Alice Merryweather’s retirement is notable on the Women’s Speed team, while star downhiller Breezy Johnson returns after missing the entire 2023-24 season.

On the Men’s side, the World Cup Speed team welcomes back Erik Arvidsson and Sam DuPratt, both returning from injuries. Bryce Bennett will aim to build on his success from last season, while Bridger Gile, a key Men’s World Cup GS team member, is looking to bounce back from persistent back issues and deliver his best performance this season.

Europa Cup Teams

The Women’s and Men’s Europa Cup teams will also play an essential role in this season’s campaign. Ryder Sarchett returns to the Men’s Europa Cup team after competing for the University of Colorado and securing a Giant Slalom win at the Junior World Championships in France.

On the Women’s Europa Cup Tech team, Stella Johansson will be back in action after injury.

Nor-Am Teams

A feature of this year’s announcement is the inclusion of dedicated Men’s and Women’s Nor-Am teams. These development teams offer promising young athletes a platform to grow and compete at higher levels. Among the notable additions are Jevin Palmquist, selected for the Men’s Nor-Am team through discretionary selection and rookie Paige DeHart, who met the criteria to earn her spot on the Women’s Nor-Am team.

Additionally, Dasha Romanov, who earned World Cup slalom starts last season, will now be part of the Nor-Am team while skiing for the University of New Hampshire. Kaitlin Keane, Emma Resnick, and Finnigan Donley will also return from injuries and compete for the Nor-Am squad.

Looking Ahead to the Season

This season will be pivotal for many athletes recovering from injuries and looking forward to competing at the highest levels. Notably, the 2024-25 season includes the FIS World Championships in Saalbach, Austria, setting the stage for a critical pre-Olympic year, with the 2025-26 season marking the lead-up to the Winter Olympics.

Following this roster announcement, Ski Racing Media will offer profiles of the new standout athletes, including Ryder Sarchett, Jevin Palmquist and Paige DeHart.
