As a dynamic day and boarding school, Sun Valley Ski Academy offers an exceptional college preparatory curriculum tailored for aspiring ski racers. Our student-athletes benefit from flexible schedules and a robust summer term, empowering them to excel academically without losing their competitive edge on the slopes. At Sun Valley Ski Academy, you don’t have to choose between your ski racing dreams or your desire to lead a full high-school life. We offer a wide array of school sports that our winter sports athletes participate in during the fall and spring; and many of our elite athletes participate in other co-curriculars like our Outdoor Leadership Academy, the arts, or student-driven clubs on campus.
With 11 alumni named to the US Ski, Snowboard, and Para Alpine teams, our program has produced Junior World Champions, NCAA Champions, World Cup starters, and Olympians. These elite athletes not only reached the pinnacle of their sport but also embraced every facet of school life here at Sun Valley Ski Academy, embodying our commitment to well-rounded excellence.
Student-athletes from all around the globe have come to Sun Valley Ski Academy to live as boarding students while pursuing their ski racing dreams. They come to train with a former US Ski Team High Performance Coach in our state-of-the-art 3,200-square-foot Julia Argyros Training Center. They come to train in our diverse venues across three easily accessible mountains including Bald Mountain, the home of the upcoming 2025 World Cup Finals, which is five minutes from our campuses. Other state-of-the-art facilities—the Air Barn for trampoline and ramp training for freeski, freestyle, and big mountain athletes, along with our roller skiing and ski treadmill facility for cross country skiers—equip our day and boarding students with everything they need to unlock their full potential.
