Who is racing in Levi, when, and how to watch the women’s second World Cup Slalom of the new season
Sunday, November 12th, will offer a second chance to witness the state of women’s World Cup slalom. However, today, it was revealed that it will be hard to beat. Saturday’s winner Petra Vlhova. Today was the Slovakian’s sixth Levi victory, which ties her with Mikaela Shiffrin for the most at the venue. It was also the 20th slalom victory of her career.
Vlhova won by (-1.41) over Germany’s Lena Duerr and (-1.55) faster than third-place Austrian Katharina Liensberger. After a season of struggling for speed, the 2021 Austrian SL Champion shows she is ready to compete.
USA’s superstar Shiffrin was 4th (–1.70) behind the winner and will be looking to clean up the mistakes that cost her a podium opportunity. Her teammate Paula Moltzan undoubtedly improved on her Levi start from a year ago but will be looking for more.
Canadian Ali Nullmeyer delivered the third-fastest second run on Saturday to move up 14 positions from her first run rank. All eyes will be on Nullmeyer Sunday to see if she can match or better her Saturday result. Her teammates, World SL Champion Laurence St-Germain and Amelia Smart will also push to improve their Saturday performances.
North Americans not starting among the first 30 in Levi
