After the first run of the Stifel Palisades Tahoe Cup Slalom, Germany's Linus Strasser is the race leader. However, there are three others within a second of his time. French star Clement Noel is second (+0.40), and the season slalom leader Austrian Manuel Feller was the third fastest (+0.46). The only other racer within a second of Strasser is Norwegian Timon Haugan, who was second in Palisades Tahoe a year ago.
It was an unfortunate day for the Bansko World Cup slalom with the decision to cancel the race after the first 31 competitors finished the course. The heavy rainfall, wind, and deteriorating conditions were deemed unsafe for the remaining racers, and the forecast showed minimal signs of letting up.

Linus Strasser is on a roll. He won his first World Cup of the season in Kitzbühel on Sunday, and on Wednesday night, he did it again in Schladming. He increased his advantage to (-0.28) during the second run. There are no bigger races in slalom skiing than those two. No matter what the rest of the season brings, he will consider 2024 his most successful. There are six slaloms left in the season, but it is clear there is a battle brewing for the title.
