Petra Vlhová had the Olympic and World Cup titles in slalom and Andreja Slokar stepped up with a career-best result to win the slalom at the World Cup Finals.

The World Cup Finals speed events concluded yesterday and the focus has now shifted to tech. The athletes first tackled the mixed team parallel event in Meribel today. Some nations had teams comprised of experienced World Cup racers, but others gave younger athletes a chance.

Henrik Kristoffersen won his second World Cup race in two days, while Olympic champion Marco Odermatt finished third in the penultimate giant slalom of the season to all but clinch the overall title.

Katharina Liensberger won the Åre slalom while pre-race favorites Petra Vlhová and Mikaela Shiffrin both failed to make the podium.

Olympic champion Marco Odermatt finished runner-up to Henrik Kristoffersen in the Kranjska Gora giant slalom Saturday to lock up the discipline season title with two races to spare.

Petra Vlhová posted the fastest time in the opening run of the Åre GS, giving herself a chance to narrow the gap on leader Mikaela Shiffrin in the overall standings.

Luke Winters finished in seventh place from bib 34, earning his second top-10 and personal-best result on the World Cup. Winters was fifth-fastest in the second run, only 13 hundredths off the pace of Kristofferson’s fastest second-run time.

Austrian skier Johannes Strolz mastered a tricky slalom course to finish nearly a second ahead of the field in the first run of the Flachau night race.

At the age of 39, Manfred Moelgg has announced that this will be his last race on the World Cup circuit. 

Worley, a two-time world champion, finished 0.29 ahead of Federica Brignone. Olympic champion Sara Hector let her first-run lead slip to finish 0.31 behind Worley.

“To win on home soil, together with the Norwegian crowd, beautiful weather, great conditions, it couldn't be better,” Kilde said.

Shiffrin was second-fastest down the steep course at Lenzerheide, just 0.11 seconds behind Olympic champion Sara Hector.

Paris, who was also the fastest in Thursday's final training, became the first skier to win the downhill in Kvitfjell more than twice, following his earlier victories in 2016 and 2019.
